What Is the HS Routine?
The HS routine is the official time table for Higher Secondary final exams. It lists the date, day, time and subject of each paper for every stream. It is issued by ASSEB Division-II (formerly AHSEC) and shared with institutions.
Where to Find the Official Routine
- The official AHSEC website (ahsec.assam.gov.in).
- The notice board or circular of your school or college.
- Your subject teachers, after you confirm the information matches the official notice.
Be careful with unofficial PDFs and social media posts and compare them with the official site before you plan.
What the Routine Usually Includes
| Detail | What to note |
|---|---|
| Date and day | Count the gap days between papers |
| Stream and subject | Your stream and every elective, including practical dates |
| Time | Reporting time and duration |
| Instructions | Admit card, allowed items and centre rules |
How to Plan Around the Routine
- Print the routine and stick it where you study.
- Mark every paper and practical on a calendar and list the chapters left per subject.
- Give the hardest subjects the longest gaps; use short gaps for light revision.
- Solve one timed previous paper per subject before its date (see HS previous year papers).
- Keep your admit card, pens and ID ready the night before.
Frequently Asked Questions

Practical dates are normally decided and communicated through the board and your institution. Check both.
Can the routine change?
Yes. Boards can revise dates for holidays or other reasons, so re-check the notice a week before the exams.
